Dr Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, Ebonyi ADC Chairman, who spoke at the coalition stakeholders’ inaugural meeting in Abakaliki on Saturday, called for massive registration of new members of the party at the grassroots level.
Adibe-Nwafor stated that the move would create a strong political platform ahead of 2027.
He told the people that the coalition was a good sign to build a prosperous Ebonyi and Nigeria at large.
“Register with ADC and become part of the change we seek. Together, we can achieve greatness.
“Participate in our activities, engage with our leaders, attend our meetings, and contribute to our discussions and spread the good word,” she added.
Mr Linus Okorie, Labour Party senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, noted that the coalition movement is for a better Nigeria and Ebonyi.
Okorie, who represented Ohaozara, Onicha and Ivo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, urged all members and partners to remain focused.
The former House of Representatives member stated that the coalition was a good development in the nation’s democratic system.
“We gathered today to kick-start the movement for coalition in Ebonyi; we have our members on the ground. The coalition is a massive movement, and together, Nigeria will be great,” he added.
Mr Silas Onu, former Ebonyi PDP chairman, decried the way hunger had bitten the entire citizenry and noted the ADC coalition would bring the change for Nigerians.
Dr Sam Egwu, former governor of the state, said there was a need for a new Nigeria.
Egwu, represented by former Minister of State for Health Mr Fidelis Nwankwo, noted the coalition movement was a call to move Nigeria and Ebonyi forward come 2027.
The stakeholders said that members of the coalition were drawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
They added that the ADC chances were boosted with the influx of members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties.
