City Boy Movement has welcomed Comrade Isaac Balami, a former Deputy Campaign Manager of the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign, following his declaration of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Balami was received alongside a delegation comprising leaders of the Obidient Movement, professionals and representatives of several support groups who also pledged their backing for President Tinubu.
According to a statement signed by the National Director of Media Monitoring and Rapid Response of the City Boy Movement, Bashir Ahmad, the delegation was received during a gathering held on Friday.
The statement said Balami led a high-powered team that included leaders of the Obidient Movement from the Middle Belt and North-Central, representatives of nearly 100 support groups from across the country, respected professionals, social media influencers, and representatives of Igbo Obidient leaders from both Northern Nigeria and the South-East.
The group described the reception accorded to the delegation by Mr. Seyi Tinubu as a reflection of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s inclusive approach to national politics.
According to the statement, “The warm reception accorded to the delegation by Mr. Seyi Tinubu further demonstrates that the APC remains a broad and inclusive platform that welcomes Nigerians from all backgrounds who are committed to national development and good governance.”
The City Boy Movement said it believes political engagement should focus on building consensus rather than division, adding that Nigerians who share the administration’s vision are welcome into its fold.
The statement added, “As a movement, the City Boy Movement believes that our strength lies in building bridges rather than walls. Every Nigerian who believes in the Renewed Hope vision has a place in this growing coalition.”
Expressing confidence in the new entrants, the group said their experience would boost its mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general election.
It stated, “We are confident that the addition of these experienced grassroots organisers, professionals, and opinion leaders will further strengthen our nationwide mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
The declaration comes as political alignments and consultations continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
