APC Youth League has formally endorsed the governorship aspiration of Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election, declaring him the most credible candidate to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.

APC Youth League, Alhaji Musa Mohammed, said the time has come for fairness, equity and political balance in Lagos politics, insisting that the governorship seat should be ceded to Badagry Division for the first time since the creation of the state.
The group noted that while other divisions within the IBILE structure have produced governors at different times, Badagry, one of the most historically significant regions of Lagos State, has never produced a governor.
According to the APC Youth League, supporting a capable and competent Badagry indigene like Ajose will not only correct a longstanding political imbalance but will also strengthen unity and inclusiveness within the state.
“Badagry has played a major historical, economic and cultural role in the development of Lagos State and Nigeria, yet it has never produced a governor. Justice and political fairness demand that this historic imbalance be corrected.
“In Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose we have a candidate who possesses the competence, the vision and the leadership capacity to govern Lagos successfully,” the group stated.
The youth organisation described Ajose as an accomplished entrepreneur, philanthropist and progressive leader with strong grassroots appeal across Lagos State.
They said his success in business, particularly in infrastructure development, real estate and construction, demonstrates his ability to manage large scale projects and drive economic growth, qualities they believe are essential for governing Africa’s largest commercial city.
Beyond business, the APC Youth League highlighted Ajose’s philanthropic record through his humanitarian interventions, scholarships for students, community empowerment programmes and support for vulnerable families across several communities.
The group further commended his commitment to youth empowerment and economic development, noting that his development vision focuses on job creation, tourism development, technology innovation, youth skills acquisition and infrastructure expansion.
According to the group, Ajose’s leadership style reflects the progressive governance philosophy that has shaped Lagos State over the years, making him a natural successor to continue the development trajectory of the state.
“Dr. Ajose represents the bridge between experience, innovation and grassroots leadership. His understanding of governance, investment and community development positions him as the best candidate to lead Lagos into the future,” the youth body said.
The APC Youth League also expressed confidence that Ajose has the political structure, credibility and popularity required to mobilise massive support across the five divisions of Lagos State and secure victory for the ruling party in 2027.
They therefore called on party leaders, delegates and stakeholders across the state to rally behind his aspiration in the interest of unity, fairness and electoral success.
“We believe strongly that the emergence of Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose as the APC governorship candidate will energise the youth population, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and guarantee victory for the party in the 2027 election,” the group added.
The organisation urged leaders of the APC to consider competence, loyalty, party commitment and political equity in choosing the party’s flag bearer.
“The call for a Badagry governor is not just about geography, it is about fairness, justice and inclusion. Ajose represents the best opportunity for APC to both correct history and win convincingly in 2027,” the statement concluded.
