3 Men In Police Net Over Alleged Same-Sex Acts

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men in Saki following an intelligence-led operation over allegations of unnatural sexual conduct.

The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Command’s Monitoring Unit, Saki Operational Base, after the Police received information about the alleged involvement of some individuals in the act.

According to the Police, the intelligence was received on September 29, 2026, prompting the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, to direct the Monitoring Unit to verify the information and take necessary action.

The arrested suspects were identified as Ayomide Lukeman, 22; Shuaib Aremu, 22; and Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed, 23.

The Police said preliminary investigations showed that the suspects allegedly admitted involvement in homosexual acts.

It added that two of the suspects reportedly confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the third suspect on several occasions, whom they allegedly referred to as their “wife.”

The Command, however, said investigations are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case and determine whether other persons may be connected to the alleged offence.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, said the Police would continue to handle the investigation professionally and in line with the law.

“The Command reiterates its commitment to conducting investigations professionally, impartially, and in accordance with the law,” the statement said.

The Police assured members of the public that all necessary procedures would be followed to establish the facts and take appropriate action based on the outcome of the investigation.

The development comes as security agencies continue to rely on intelligence gathering and public cooperation to detect and investigate criminal activities across communities.

The Oyo State Police Command urged residents to provide credible information that could assist in preventing crime and maintaining public safety.

The Command also provided emergency contacts for members of the public who may need police assistance, including the Oyo State Call Response Center toll-free line, 615, and the Police Control Room numbers: 08081768614 and 07055495413.
