Police in Delta have arrested a 77-year-old alleged gunsmith, Michael Enikpozi, following a botched robbery.

Enikpozi, a resident of Irri in Isoko South council of Delta State, was quoted as saying that he had been fabricating and selling guns in the past 20 years.

Also, 65-year-old suspect, Solomon Udanya, was arrested with 130 live rounds of ammunition in Emevor, Isoko North council, after detectives raided a black spot in the area, the police said.

Spokesman, Bright Edafe, in a statement yesterday, said the arrest followed a distress call that a three-man robbery gang was attacking a victim along Ozoro-Ughelli Road.

He said operatives from Ozoro Division and a local vigilance group stormed the scene but the robbers took to their heels but a suspect was arrested, it was said.
