Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani has lashed out at Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. He expressed disappointment after Wike declared Wednesday public holiday in the state to welcome President-elect Bola Tinubu. Sani said it’s a mark of desperation for favour and accommodation. His statement is contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday. Recall that Wike had declared Wednesday May 3 public holiday over Tinubu’s two-day visit to the state. Tinubu is also expected to commission some projects while in the State. However, Sani, a social critic, said that Wike grounding economic activities because of Tinubu’s visit was a mark of desperation for favour. He wrote, “Commissioning a project is a mark of a great achievement. Kudos. But grounding the economic, social and educational activities of the state for that purpose is a mark of desperation for favour and accommodation by a lickspittle. Tinubu can say no to that or else it becomes the norm.”
