Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has reiterated his commitment to fight corruption in the state.
He stated this on Saturday at the opening of a capacity building workshop on anti-corruption principles for directors in the State at Dawakin Kudu, Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area, Kano State.
Yusuf, represented by his Deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, said that his administration was resolute in implementing people-oriented policies and programmes.
According to him, the policies would enhance the well-being of the citizens through good democratic governance.
He said that this objective can only be achieved by combating corruption in all forms.
Yusuf said that the NNPP-led administration has zero tolerance for corruption, and urged all directors to be guided accordingly.
He appealed to the participants to make adequate use of the opportunity to enhance effective service delivery to the people.
The Chairman of the State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, Mr Muhyi Gado, said the workshop was aimed at equipping directors in the civil service with knowledge to fight corrupt practices.
He said that the agency had exposed cases of misappropriation of public funds under the immediate past administration in the state.
Gado warned that anyone found wanting would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.( NAN)
