A Tribute to Dr. Terungwa Acho on His Retirement from the Federal Civil Service

Dr. Terungwa Acho

Retirement is a time to celebrate, recount, and reflect, and there is much to celebrate about Dr. Terungwa Acho’s journey. To many, he represents courage, conviction, and the willingness to speak truth to power, even if it meant entering the lion’s den.

After a distinguished academic journey through the University of Lagos, Dr. Acho’s career traversed the nation, ultimately leading him to the epicenter of power, Aso Rock. As a young medical officer, his dedication to service was exemplary. Known for his insistence on doing things the right way, he quickly earned respect for his work ethic.

Although he had a natural affinity for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr. Acho eventually found his place in the Department of Internal Medicine, where his contributions were significant and enduring. His passion for bedside teaching, his ability to meticulously extract vital patient information, and his extraordinary skill in patient counseling are legendary.
