Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has commissioned the 10.4-kilometre Edunabon–Tonkere Road in Ife North Local Government Area, describing the project as the end of more than 40 years of neglect in the area.
The governor made this known on Saturday in a post shared on his X handle, where he said the newly completed road would improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and enhance the welfare of residents.
Reflecting on the significance of the project, Adeleke said: “Yesterday, I commissioned the 10.4km Edunabon–Tonkere Road in Ife North, ending over four decades of neglect and restoring a vital link that will boost economic activities and improve the lives of our people.
“This is another promise fulfilled and a testament to our commitment to equitable development across every part of Osun State.”
The governor also used the opportunity to appeal to residents to maintain peace as the state prepares for the August 15 election.
He urged eligible voters not to succumb to intimidation, stressing that democracy thrives when citizens freely exercise their constitutional rights.
According to him: “As we approach the August 15 election, I urge every Osun citizen to remain peaceful, courageous and fearless. Do not allow anyone to intimidate you. Democracy belongs to the people, and your vote remains your greatest power. By the grace of God, we will continue on the path of progress together.”
Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructure projects and ensuring balanced development across all parts of Osun State while encouraging residents to participate peacefully in the electoral process.
