The controversy around the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations isn’t going away anytime soon.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed it received an appeal from the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), challenging the decision that declared Morocco winners of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the appeal was officially registered on March 25, 2026.
Senegal are asking CAS to set aside the ruling by the Confederation of African Football and recognise them as champions.
That alone puts the tournament’s outcome back under the spotlight.
On X, reactions have started pouring in, and they’re not exactly calm.
Football platform The Football Lab wrote: “Titles should be won on the pitch, not rewritten later 💔🔥.”
Another user, Wil, didn’t mince words: “CAF is a joke. Things are about to get interesting.”
That pretty much sums up the mood – frustration, a bit of disbelief, and a sense that this isn’t ending quietly.
CAS will now review
submissions from both sides before setting a date.
Until then, the 2025 AFCON title sits in an awkward place, with the fight now shifting off the pitch.
