The Anambra Leaders Forum (ALF) has commended Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji for his outstanding leadership qualities, describing him as the most formidable candidate to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election.
Reacting to recent reports on the intense political battle ahead, the forum insisted that the APC’s best and only realistic chance to defeat the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) lies in fielding a strong, popular, and experienced candidate like Umeoji.
According to the forum, Umeoji’s track record in governance, grassroots appeal, and widespread acceptance across the state make him the most viable contender to unseat Governor Charles Soludo. They emphasized that any attempt by the APC to field a weak or unpopular candidate would only result in another defeat for the party in Anambra.
“Anambra people are yearning for a credible alternative to the current administration, and Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji has the capacity, experience, and network to lead the state into a new era of progress. He is the only candidate who can rally broad support across party lines and win the election convincingly,” the forum stated.
The group further warned against internal sabotage and unnecessary distractions aimed at discrediting Umeoji, noting that such actions only serve the interests of APGA and other opposition elements who fear his growing influence.
They called on APC leaders at all levels to rally behind Umeoji and ensure that the party presents a candidate who can truly challenge the incumbent government, rather than engaging in divisive politics that could cost the party another opportunity to govern Anambra State.
“APC must learn from its past mistakes and put forward a candidate who has the political weight and grassroots connection to win. Anything short of this will be a gift to the opposition,” they concluded.
