APC Angels Youth Group Dumps PDP, Backs Tinubu, Names Seyi Tinubu Grand Patron Ahead of 2027

The APC Angels Youth Initiatives Organisation (AAYIO) has officially announced its transformation from a former PDP-aligned structure into a pro-APC movement, declaring full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 General Election.

At a press conference held on Tuesday in Abuja, the group unveiled its renewed identity and strategic direction, describing the move as a major political realignment aimed at strengthening youth participation in national development.

Addressing journalists and stakeholders, the e group’s president, Queen Chinenye Ubah, stated:

“We welcome you warmly to this historic press conference where we officially announce the birth and public unveiling of a renewed, repositioned, and reinvigorated movement, the APC ANGELS YOUTH INITIATIVES ORGANISATION, AAYIO.” She said

The organisation recalled that it had operated since 2015 as the PDP Angels Youth Initiatives Organisation, mobilising young women nationwide. However, it said its new direction followed wide consultations with state coordinators, diaspora chapters, and national leaders.

“After extensive consultations across our state coordinators, diaspora chapters, and national leadership, we have taken a unanimous and strategic decision to transform into the APC ANGELS YOUTH INITIATIVES ORGANISATION,” the group said.

Explaining the rationale behind the shift, AAYIO declared its confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership, noting:

“Our decision is rooted in our conviction that the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu represents the most viable path toward sustained economic reform, youth empowerment, and national repositioning ahead of the 2027 General Election.”

The organisation further described the change as comprehensive, adding:

“This transformation is not symbolic. It is structural, ideological, and operational. We are moving our entire grassroots machinery, our mobilization architecture, our membership strength, and our national and diaspora networks into a new direction.”

AAYIO also announced the appointment of Seyi Tinubu as its Grand Patron, citing his involvement in youth development and community initiatives.

“Seyi Tinubu has consistently demonstrated passion for youth development, enterprise support, and grassroots empowerment initiatives across Nigeria,” the group stated.
“As Grand Patron, we are confident that his guidance and inspiration will further strengthen our resolve and expand our impact nationwide.”

According to the organisation, AAYIO currently operates in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with active diaspora chapters in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, and parts of Asia and Europe. It said these chapters would support international advocacy and digital mobilisation ahead of 2027.

“We are proud to announce that AAYIO has an active presence across the thirty six states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory,” it said.

The group also fixed April 22, 2026, for its official public launch in Abuja, where it plans to unveil its national structure, strategic roadmap, and youth empowerment programmes.

“The official public launch… will take place on the 22nd of April, 2026 here in Abuja,” AAYIO announced.

Reaffirming its political commitment, the organisation declared:

“AAYIO is not just a support group. We are a movement. We are organized. We are structured. We are disciplined. And we are committed to ensuring that the renewed mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is delivered through lawful, democratic, and grassroots driven processes.”

The group also called on young Nigerians, especially women, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and artisans, to join its ranks.

“The future belongs to those who organize, mobilize, and act with clarity of purpose,” it said.
“AAYIO stands ready to play its role in shaping that future.”
