All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed its sweeping victories in the recent bye-elections as a clear endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, while sharply criticizing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors for their “odiferous hypocrisy” and failure to deliver for Nigerians.
In a press statement issued on August 25, 2025, by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, CON, the party dismissed the PDP’s allegations of undemocratic conduct as “frivolous” and reflective of their own internal crises.
Following a meeting of PDP Governors in Zamfara State on August 23, 2025, the opposition party accused the APC of lacking vision and predicted a loss of public support in the 2027 elections. Morka fired back, calling the PDP a “terminally ailing” party in “deep comatose” that has been rejected by Nigerians.
He pointed to the APC’s strong performance in bye-elections, including wins in non-APC states like Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano, as proof of growing public confidence in the Tinubu administration’s transformative policies.
“The APC’s dominant victory in the just-concluded bye-elections attests loudly to the resonance of President Tinubu’s policies with Nigerians,” Morka said, noting that these wins came despite alleged state-sponsored violence by opposition-led governments.
He criticized the PDP Governors for selectively praising democracy when they win but questioning its credibility when they lose, calling this stance “invidiously anti-democratic.”
Morka urged the PDP Governors to focus on reviving their “scanty” and fractured party rather than making baseless accusations against the APC.
He emphasized that the PDP has failed to offer credible alternatives in the last three election cycles, resulting in repeated rejection by voters.
In contrast, the APC highlighted its delivery of “evidence-backed transformative governance” across all sectors, a far cry from the PDP’s era when many states struggled to pay basic wages.
The APC called on Nigerians to ignore the PDP’s “empty rhetorics” and rally behind President Tinubu’s vision for a prosperous future.
“Nigeria will not return to the dark era of PDP-led governance,” Morka declared, expressing confidence that the APC’s ongoing march toward development will continue undeterred by the opposition’s distractions.
As the 2027 elections loom, the APC remains optimistic about its growing support base, urging citizens to stand firm in support of a brighter, more inclusive Nigeria under Tinubu’s leadership.
