National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has been named the recipient of the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Politician of the Year Award in recognition of his leadership and contributions to public service.
The ruling party disclosed the honour in a statement issued on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the award forms part of the Daily Times Nigeria 100th Anniversary (DTN@100) celebration and recognises Prof. Yilwatda’s exemplary leadership, commitment to public service and contributions to national development.
The presentation of the award is scheduled to take place during the Times Heroes Awards on September 3, 2026, at the ThisDay Dome in Abuja.
The APC also announced that its national chairman would be featured in the Nigerian Grand Book (National Souvenir), a commemorative publication highlighting distinguished Nigerians whose achievements have made significant contributions to the country’s development.
The party further called on friends, political associates and supporters of Prof. Yilwatda to participate in celebrating the recognition by placing congratulatory messages in the Daily Times newspaper.
The statement reads:

“The prestigious recognition is part of the newspaper’s 100th Anniversary Celebration (DTN@100) and honours Prof. Yilwatda’s exemplary leadership, public service and contributions to national development.”
“The award will be presented at the Times Heroes Awards, scheduled to hold on 3 September 2026 at the ThisDay Dome, Abuja.”
“As part of the celebration, Prof. Yilwatda will also be featured in the commemorative Nigerian Grand Book (National Souvenir), which celebrates distinguished Nigerians and their contributions to the nation.”
“Friends, political associates and other well-wishers who wish to place congratulatory messages in Daily Times Newspaper in honour of Prof. Yilwatda are requested to see attached letter for information and contact details.”
