JUST IN: APC releases timetable for Delta, Kogi restored constituencies, legislative by-elections

All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled the timetable and schedule of activities for its primary elections ahead of the 2026 polls in the newly restored State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, as well as legislative by-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano states.

The party announced the development following the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to restore four previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states.

In a statement, the APC said the restored constituencies include Abraka, Isoko North II and Ughelli South II in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II in Kogi State.

The party also confirmed that it would conduct primary elections for legislative by-elections in the following constituencies:

– Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State;
– Disina State Constituency and Sakwa State Constituency in Bauchi State;
– Udu State Constituency in Delta State; and
– Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State.

The APC said: “The Independent National Electoral Commission (@inecnigeria) has restored four (4) previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi States.”

It added: “NOTICE is hereby given to the Delta and Kogi State Chapters of our great Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in respect of the conduct of the Restored State Constituencies Primary Elections in the following constituencies:

1. Delta State: Abraka, Isoko North II, and Ughelli South II State Constituencies; and

2. Kogi State: Yagba West II State Constituency.”

The ruling party further stated: “Also, NOTICE is hereby given to the Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano State Chapters of the APC in respect of the conduct of primary elections for the legislative bye-elections in the following constituencies:

1. Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency, Gombe State;

2. Disina State Constituency and Sakwa State Constituency, Bauchi State;

3. Udu State Constituency, Delta State; and

4. Dawakin Kudu State Constituency, Kano State.”

According to the statement, “Consequently, the All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the conduct of its primary elections for the INEC-restored State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi States and the 2026 legislative by-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano States.”

The release of the timetable officially signals the commencement of the APC’s internal electoral process for the affected constituencies as preparations gather pace for the forthcoming elections.
