In a Comminique made available to the media at a press conference in Abuja, addressed by the leadership of APGA Volunteer Organization on Tuesday 7th September, 2021:

BEING THE COMMUNIQUE OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF APGA VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION (AVO) HELD ON TUESDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER, 2021

APGA Volunteer Organization is the umbrella body of various support groups of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), with very rich network of supporters accros the nook and cranny of Anambra State and outside Anambra State, without any doubt, we are major stakeholders and contributors to the previous victories recorded by APGA in Anambra State.

The National Executive Council (NEC) of AVO critically analyzed all the recent happenings in APGA, knowing well that our permanent interest remains the development, peace and progress of Anambra State and this we can not compromise, it is unfortunate that the internal wranglings in APGA has grossly reduced the chances of APGA from producing the next Governor of Anambra State, especially as the INEC recognized candidate of APGA is not a man that can be marketed to the buy of Anambra people.

The NEC therefore critically considered the other options among the contenders for the position of the next Governor of Anambra State and concluded that the next person AVO would like to work for knowing well that he knows the challenges of Anambra State; has all it takes to address them; can be marketed to the Anambra people and Anambrarians will see reason to make him the Governor is VALENTINE OZIGBO; the candidate of PDP.

The NEC further resolved that in supporting OZIGBO, we shall purely and solely mobilize all the necessary support for him not his Party as our darling party remains APGA, therefore, for the purpose of the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship election coming up on November this year, the name of our Organization shall tentatively change from APGA Volunteer Organization (AVO) to VOLUNTEERS FOR VALENTINE OZIGBO (VOLVO).

Finally, some members of NEC have been mandated to lias with His Excellency, Honourable Valentine Ozigbo and convey our resolutions to him for the purpose of planning the formal declaration which we propose to hold on Saturday 11th September, 2021, while congratulating Honourable Ozigbo, we call on our members to wait for the details.

Thank you
