Arsenal’s dramatic 2-3 defeat to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium has been voted the Premier League’s best match of the 2025/26 season by fans.
The Premier League announced the result on its official X account on Thursday after supporters cast their votes for the standout game of the campaign.
The contest delivered everything expected of a heavyweight clash.
Arsenal took the lead through a Lisandro Martinez own goal, but United hit back before the break through Bryan Mbeumo. Patrick Dorgu then put the visitors ahead with a stunning effort after halftime before Mikel Merino dragged Arsenal level late in the game.
Just when it appeared both sides would settle for a point, Matheus Cunha produced the decisive moment, firing home the winner three minutes after Arsenal’s equaliser to seal a memorable 3-2 victory for Ruben Amorim’s side.
The match was one of the defining fixtures of the season, featuring five goals, dramatic swings in momentum and a late winner in front of a packed Emirates Stadium.
Fans ultimately chose the encounter ahead of several other nominees, handing Arsenal and Manchester United’s thrilling showdown the honour of being named the Premier League’s match of the 2025/26 season.
