Atiku visits David Mark, Kwankwaso in Abuja, discusses strengthening ADC, Nigeria’s democracy

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday held separate meetings with key leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as part of ongoing consultations aimed at strengthening the party and deepening Nigeria’s democracy.

The visits, which took place in Abuja, were described as courtesy calls but also provided an opportunity for high-level discussions on the future of the party and governance in Nigeria.

In a statement accompanying photographs from the visits, Atiku disclosed that he first visited the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, at his residence in Abuja.

According to him, the meeting focused on strengthening the party and restoring public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic system.

“Also this afternoon, I visited the National Chairman of our great party, ADC, Senator David Mark, at his residence in Abuja. It was a courtesy call that provided an opportunity to share ideas on how to further strengthen the ADC and restore confidence in Nigeria’s democracy,” Atiku stated.

The former presidential candidate later paid another courtesy visit to former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, where discussions centred on the party’s progress and governance issues.

“I paid a courtesy visit to the residence of my brother and partner, His Excellency Rabiu Kwankwaso, @KwankwasoRM, this afternoon. We had quality discussions on the progress of our party, the ADC, and how we must continue the work to ensure good governance and recovery are achieved in good time for the people,” he added.

The visits come amid growing political realignments and consultations within opposition parties ahead of future electoral contests, with stakeholders emphasizing unity, party consolidation and improved governance.
