The Bloggers and Vloggers, Content Creators Association in Nigeria (BAVCCA) has congratulated Olatunji Disu on his appointment as the Acting Inspector General of Police, describing the development as well-deserved and timely.

In a statement signed by its National President, Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, and issued in Abuja, the association praised the new police chief’s professional journey and leadership qualities.

BAVCCA stated that the appointment “is a recognition of years of distinguished service, professionalism, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to national security.”

The association noted that Disu has built a reputation as a results-oriented officer with strong operational and strategic skills.

According to the statement, “Over the years, he has built a reputation as a results driven officer who combines operational competence with strategic leadership.”

BAVCCA recalled his previous roles, including his tenure as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, in Lagos State, where he was credited with intelligence-led policing and proactive crime management.

It added that his experience in specialized anti-crime and tactical units “showcased his deep understanding of modern security challenges and community engagement.”

The digital media body emphasized that Disu’s career reflects dedication to professionalism, transparency, and accountability within the Nigeria Police Force.

“Throughout his career, Mr. Disu has been known for strengthening police community relations, promoting professionalism among officers, and supporting reforms that align the Force with global best practices,” the statement read.

BAVCCA further described his record as one marked by “courage under pressure, administrative excellence, and a commitment to accountability.”

Highlighting Nigeria’s evolving security challenges, the association stressed the need for innovation, collaboration, and technology-driven policing.

“We believe that Mr. Disu’s experience and exposure position him to drive modernization, strengthen cybercrime response mechanisms, and improve synergy between security agencies and civil society stakeholders,” BAVCCA stated.

The group expressed confidence that his leadership would strengthen internal discipline, enhance public trust, and advance intelligence-led policing nationwide.

BAVCCA, which represents thousands of bloggers, vloggers, and content creators across the country, pledged its support for the new police leadership.

The association said, “We assure the Acting Inspector General of our support in promoting responsible digital advocacy, combating misinformation, and fostering national unity.”

It also expressed optimism that Disu’s tenure would prioritize “transparency, effective communication, and constructive engagement with the media and digital community.”

The association said Nigerians are hopeful for “a new era of professionalism, fairness, respect for human rights, and strengthened security architecture under his watch.”

In its closing remarks, BAVCCA congratulated the Acting IGP once again and wished him success.
