Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire incident that occurred at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy Church in Lagos.
The church owned by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and located in the Oregun area of Ikeja, Lagos State, reportedly caught fire on Sunday morning.
Multiple videos captured the scene as the fire ravaged the main auditorium.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) responded to the incident, with Director Mrs. Margret Adeseye confirming that the fire had been brought under control.
Adeseye stated that the fire had impacted the main auditorium, and that it had escalated due to the church’s fire service attempting to handle the situation independently without seeking assistance from the Lagos fire service.
The cause of the fire remains unknown pending further investigation ².
