The Bloggers and Vloggers, Content Creators Association in Nigeria (BAVCCA) is the leading umbrella body representing over 5,000 professional bloggers, vloggers, and digital content creators nationwide. Established as a structured professional network to amplify the voices of Nigeria’s burgeoning digital media ecosystem, BAVCCA emphasizes ethical practices, innovation, and nation-building.
It has been in existence since 2015 but made official in 2022, the association has been active since at least 2022, with significant milestones including its inaugural National Elections in August 2025 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where Ikechukwu Chukwunyere was elected National President amid over 2,000 delegates.
Under Chukwunyere’s leadership, BAVCCA has positioned itself as a key advocate for digital creators, focusing on welfare, policy influence, and global collaboration.

BAVCCA engages in a range of initiatives to empower members and promote responsible digital media:
*Advocacy and Policy Engagement:* Lobbying government and stakeholders to safeguard creators’ rights, including defenses against misinformation and corruption smears.
*Capacity Building and Welfare:* Organizing regular training programs on digital skills, income generation, and ethical content creation; launching sustainable welfare schemes; and developing a digital hub for mentorship, tools, and funding access.
*Events and Conferences:* Hosting National Conferences, (spotlighting national assets like the Dangote Refinery), and a proposed “Judiciary and the Digital Media Conference” in early 2026.
*Awareness Campaigns:* Running the Digital Responsibility and Judicial Awareness Campaign to educate over 10 million social media users on ethical practices and judicial respect; lauding government efforts in various sectors.

These activities foster unity, innovation, and accountability, with BAVCCA often partnering with groups to push various agendas that can better the citizenry.
*Notable Personalities and Visits*
BAVCCA frequently conducts high-level delegations to interact with influential figures, blending site tours, meetings, and advocacy:
* Aliko Dangote and Dangote Refinery Leadership (October 2025): A 15-member delegation, led by President Chukwunyere, toured the $20 billion Dangote Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, meeting Vice President Edwin Devakumar. They praised Dangote’s vision for job creation and economic impact, calling it a “national asset.”
* Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf, Chief Judge of FCT High Court (November 2025): A leadership visit to Abuja sought patronage for BAVCCA’s awareness campaign and proposed conference. The Chief Judge commended their role in curbing digital excesses and pledged support.
* Surveyor-General of the Federation, Abdulganiyu Adeyemi Adebomehin (November 7, 2025): A courtesy visit by a six-member delegation, led by President Ikechukwu Chukwunyere, to the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation (OSGoF) headquarters in Abuja. The delegation discussed strengthening collaboration for national development, public enlightenment, and enhancing the digital visibility of government institutions through geospatial innovation. Chukwunyere lauded OSGoF’s contributions to Nigeria’s infrastructural and territorial development and applauded the Federal Government’s recent two-year tenure extension for the Surveyor-General (effective January 5, 2026) as affirmation of his reforms in geospatial data infrastructure. The Surveyor-General described the visit as timely and impactful, expressing delight at the partnership potential.
* Other interactions include praising NNPC GCEO Mele Kyari for transparency reforms and Agriculture Minister Abubakar Kyari for job initiatives, often via delegations or public endorsements.
