President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier today received a high-level delegation from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, underscoring Nigeria’s strategic partnership with the United States on security and regional stability.
The courtesy visit brought together the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, Keith Heffern; Commander of U.S. AFRICOM, General Dagvin Anderson; Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to AFRICOM, Ambassador Peter Vrooman; and Command Sergeant Major Garric M. Banfield, AFRICOM’s Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Discussions focused on strengthening security cooperation, counterterrorism efforts, and deepening diplomatic ties in the interest of peace and stability across Africa.
