Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 12 suspected illegal Bureau de Change (BDC) operators.
The commission’s spokesmam, Mr Dele Oyewale, said in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, that the suspects were apprehended on Wednesday following credible intelligence and surveillance.
Mr. Oyewale said the individuals were allegedly operating BDCs without the required licences.
“Items recovered from them include cash and exotic jewellery.
“The suspects are currently under investigation and will be arraigned in court soon,” Oyewale added.
