Eid-el-Kabir Police ban durbar in Kano over emirship tussle

The Kano State Police Command on Thursday said adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful Eid-El-Kabir celebration throughout the state.

In conjunction with relevant security stakeholders, the command has implemented measures to maintain law and order before, during, and after the festive period.

This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Abdullahi Kiyawa on Thursday in Kano.

Mr. Kiyawa said as part of these measures, all Durbar activities have been suspended due to security concerns and consultations with stakeholders. However, worshippers are advised to proceed with traditional Eid prayers at designated grounds.

He encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station or through the provided emergency contact numbers or online platforms.

“We appreciate the cooperation and collaboration of all stakeholders in our efforts to maintain a safe and secure environment.” He said
