Alhaji AbdulMajid Danbilki Kwamanda, an All Progressives Congress (APC) staunch member in Kano State has urged all parties in the emirship tussle in Kano to respect court orders and pronouncements.
Kwamanda told newsmen in Kano on Monday that the court order stopping the reinstatement of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano should be respected.
He called on President Bola Tinubu, as the leader of the country, to ensure that the judiciary was not brought to public ridicule.
He expressed concern that the Kano State Government’s action of ignoring the Federal High Court order temporarily a halt to the reinstatement of Sanusi was setting a dangerous precedent and could have far-reaching consequences.
Kwamanda questioned why those who celebrated the use of the court to consolidate their grip on power would stand against a substantive court order.
Kwamanda said violates of the rules of law constituted a threat to the nation’s constitution and security.
He urged Tinubu to intervene urgently to bring peace and stability to the state, stressing that respecting the court injunction was crucial to peace in the state.
“Mr. President you should not allow this bad precedent to be set during your tenure. You should ensure that everybody respects the law by stopping the reinstatement”, he said. (NAN)
