Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the news circulating online about the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Olukayode Ariwoola, informing President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prepare for a rerun election is fake and orchestrated by those he referred to as ‘headless mob’.Ahmad was reacting to the denial of the report by the Supreme Court that Justice Ariwoola allegedly spoke to the president and the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) with a view to pressurizing the Presidential Election Petition Court on the likely judgment to give.In a statement by its spokesperson, Festus Akande, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court said there is no iota of truth in the narrative, as there was no such telephones conversation between the CJN and anyone on the ongoing Presidential Election Petition on the 2023 electionReacting to the development in a Twitter post on Wednesday, Ahmad said the report was initiated by the “headless mob”.He wrote: “Unfortunately the fake news was initiated by the usual suspect, those headless mobs.”
