Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has assured President Bola Tinubu that he will not let him down following his appointment as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) board.
Fayose expressed gratitude for the confidence shown in him and described the position as an opportunity to advance grassroots development through better rural electricity supply nationwide.
President Tinubu named the PDP chieftain to the post on July 20 as part of 26 new appointments to various federal agencies and commissions.
Fayose pointed out that the board has not yet been inaugurated, adding that it would be too early to detail specific plans until members formally take office.
“I sincerely thank President Bola Tinubu for finding me worthy of this appointment. It is a privilege to serve, particularly in an agency whose mandate directly impacts people at the grassroots,” he said.
“We will do our very best, and, by the grace of God, we will not let the President down.
“The board has not been inaugurated yet, so I cannot speak extensively on what lies ahead. In due course, when we begin work officially, we will be in a better position to discuss our plans and how we intend to improve rural electrification across the country.”
