The Federal Government has launched the Direct Benefit Transfer Programme, aiming to support vulnerable Nigerians by disbursing ₦75,000 to eligible households.
The programme targets 15 million vulnerable households, ensuring they receive financial assistance to alleviate their struggles.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda, announced this in a post via his X handle on Friday
Yilwatda said the payment is absolutely free, and beneficiaries should not pay anyone to receive the benefit.
He said: “This payment is FREE. You do not need to pay anyone to benefit.
“Do not pay anyone to have your name added to the National Social Register—it is fraud.
“Our goal is to reach those in need transparently and fairly. If you suspect fraud, report it immediately.
The minister warned against fraudulent activities, urging individuals to report any suspicious cases immediately.
