FIFA has launched the 100-day countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be the largest edition in the tournament’s history.
The competition will feature 48 teams and 104 matches, with the United States, Mexico and Canada serving as co-hosts. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on June 11, 2026, while the final will be played on July 19, 2026.
To mark the milestone, FIFA and host cities unveiled countdown clocks and held activation events in several locations across the three countries.
The 2026 edition will be the first under the expanded 48-team format, a move FIFA says is aimed at increasing global participation and broadening the tournament’s reach.
