Finnish authorities have frozen the assets of Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafran agitator accused of terrorism-related activities, who has been in detention for several weeks.

The government also seized assets linked to companies associated with Ekpa and four of his alleged accomplices, who are also in custody.

According to Yle, a Finnish news outlet, Ekpa is being held in Kylmäkoski prison, located in Akaa, Finland, and known as one of the world’s strictest detention facilities.

It would be recalled that Ekpa was arrested about four weeks ago alongside four others on suspicion of terrorism-related offences, including incitement to violence and financing terrorism.

Yle Reports that Ekpa was remanded on charges of public incitement to commit crimes with terrorist intent.
