The First Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu has commissioned the first National Headquarters of the Nigerian Red Cross Service. The facility is situated in Abuja.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu in her address noted that the Society has remained steadfast in its mission of serving humanity without discrimination.
She stated that the Society has always had an enduring commitment of alleviating human suffering and bringing hope to the most vulnerable.
“I am confident that this new office building will further strengthen the Society’s capacity to coordinate its humanitarian activities, enhance operational effectiveness, and deepen its impact across Nigeria”.
“The influence of the activities of the Red Cross Society extends far beyond our shores. Whether providing first aid or responding to disasters, supporting victims of conflict, promoting health and well-being, or providing humanitarian assistance to communities in need, the Society has remained steadfast in its mission of serving humanity without discrimination”.
The First Lady of Nigeria who had earlier been decorated the Grand Matron of the Society commend the leadership, staff, partners and volunteers of the Nigerian Red Cross Society for their dedication and sacrifice.
“Your selfless service continues to make meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families”.
As part of the commissioning, Senator Oluremi Tinubu also toured the facility which included the Incidence Room where she was informed about the operations of the fully digitized operations.
In their remarks, the President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga, the Head Country Cluster of the International Federation of the Red Cross Doris El- Doueihy and other partners commended the Federal Governments efforts at tackling various issues that bring about humanitarian crises.
They assured of their support and commitment to making life more bearable for every victim of humanitarian crises.
