Gembo Mubarak, a former House of Representatives member for Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency in Taraba State, passed away on Monday in a German hospital following a brief illness.
Mubarak, who served as a lawmaker from 2015 to 2023, fell ill and was flown to Germany for medical treatment three weeks ago.
Musa Khalib, a family source, expressed deep sorrow over Mubarak’s death, describing him as a genuine leader whose loss will be felt by his family and Taraba State. “I am deeply shocked to announce the demise of our hero and political legend, Hon. A.A. Gambo Mubarak, former member representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency. May Allah forgive his shortcomings,” Khalib said. “It is sad that our family and Taraba State will continue to miss his exceptional leadership.”
Sources confirm that Mubarak’s body is being transported from Germany to Nigeria. It is expected to arrive at the Abuja Central Mosque on Tuesday, where burial rites will take place at 2 p.m. the same day.
