Galatasaray scored five past Juventus in the first leg of their Champions League knockout tie.
The home side started strong and kept Juventus under pressure from the start.
Gabriel Sara opened the scoring in the 15th minute. Juventus responded with Teun Koopmeiners scoring twice by the 32nd minute, giving them a short-lived lead.
The match changed in the second half when Juventus were reduced to ten men. Galatasaray then took control and never looked back.
Noa Lang scored twice to put the hosts ahead. Davinson Sánchez added a goal from a set piece, and Sacha Boey finished the scoring late in the game. Galatasaray had 52 percent of possession, 11 shots on target, and passed the ball with 83 percent accuracy, keeping Juventus on the back foot.
Victor Osimhen was Juventus’ best player even without scoring.
He set up a goal and caused problems for the Galatasaray defense with his runs. For Galatasaray, Lang and Sara were key in attack, while Sánchez helped both in defense and going forward.
The win gives Galatasaray a big advantage going into the second leg. Juventus will have a tough job if they hope to overturn the score.
