Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa and governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state says PDP will record total victory in Trofani in the Nov. 11 elections.

Diri said this during his campaign in Trofani, Adagbari, Tumgbo Agbere and Odoni, in Sagbama Local Government Area on Tuesday.

While describing Trofani was a peaceful community, with good people and 100 per cent PDP supporters, he appealed for more votes from the area, even as he urged them not to listen to ‘empty promises’.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor seized the occasion to inaugurate an electrification project, a 100-metre concrete road, a rehabilitated culvert and hospital, among others.

Diri, who stated the community was now connected to the national grid, urged the people not to listen to other parties which, he said, did not mean well for them.

On his part, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Mr Collins Cocodia, said that the governor meant well for the people of Trofani and Bayelsa at large.

Cocodia, an indigene of Trofani, appealed to the people of the area to vote en masse and ensure that they delivered 100 per cent votes for the governor, who is seeking a re-election.

He commended the governor for his kind gesture to the community during and after the recent flood as well as in appointments and other things.

On her part, Hon. Ebizi Ndiomu, member representing Sagbama Constituency III in Bayelsa House of Assembly, said that PDP belonged to Agbere people, who, she said, were happy with the present government.

In his remarks, the Director-General of Diri Campaign Council, Hon. Mitema Obordor, said that the governor had performed beyond excellently well to deserve a second term in office.

According to him, the governor has been protecting the lives and property of the people of the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than 5,000 APC members in Sagbama constituency defected to PDP at the occasion. (NAN)
