The Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Steering Committee on Thursday held a high-level meeting in Abuja to reaffirm the Federal Government’s commitment to transparent and accountable payroll management in the Public Service.
In a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Eno Olotu, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Folasade Yemi-Esan, who chairs the Steering Committee, described the meeting as a defining moment in the effort to deepen integrity within Nigeria’s Federal Public Service.
Yemi-Esan noted that the Steering Committee, being the highest decision-making body for the IPPIS Project, carries a critical responsibility to shape the future of payroll management in Nigeria. She stressed that accurate human resource data is central to building a credible and efficient payroll system.
According to her, the initiative aligns with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25), particularly its digitalisation pillar, and is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks a leaner and more efficient government.
The HCSF urged members to ensure that their deliberations are guided by good governance, due process, and national interest, warning that the project is too important to be undermined by irregular practices or duplication of roles.
She reaffirmed the OHCSF’s commitment to work closely with stakeholders to preserve the integrity and sustainability of the IPPIS platform, expressing confidence that it will stand as a legacy of reform, transparency, and accountability for future generations.
