Dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido

Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed the immediate arrest of dethroned Kano Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The governor’s directive was communicated to newsmen by his Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Saturday morning.

According to Governor Yusuf, ‘Aminu Ado Bayero’s unprecedented return to Kano is nothing but a move disturb public peace and an attempt to destroy the relative peace the state enjoys.

“Therefore, I have directed the Commissioner of Police in the State to arrest Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, wherever he is seen in the state”, the statement read in part.

Recalled that the dethroned emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, had earlier returned to Kano in the early hours of Saturday.

The aircraft which conveyed the monarch touched down at the Aminu Kano International airport at 4:30am.

He was immediately thronged by his supporters, who were chanting a verse from Surah Al-Fatihah in the Holy Qur’an.

The former Emir, who was fully dressed in royal regalia, did not respond to the crowd as he took his steps consciously.

He later observed Subhi (dawn prayer) at the airport.
