Police Command in Kano State says it is intensifying efforts to tackle potential security threats before, during and after Sallah celebrations in the state.

Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Bakori, said this while addressing officers and men of the command in Kano on Wednesday.

Bakori emphasised the need for vigilance and proactive measures among personnel to ensure public safety before, during and after the festivities in all parts of the state.

He identified touting, mobile phone snatching, and drug abuse among youths as major social concerns in the state.

Bakori said the police would collaborate with sister agencies to tackle them, adding that there would also be in-house training to hone the skills of police personnel serving in the state.

The CP reaffirmed the command’s commitment to residents’ safety, and urged citizens to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.

“Residents should remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear of harassment.

“The full weight of the law will be brought upon individuals or groups found guilty of spreading misinformation or attempting to disrupt public peace.
