People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately release the outstanding results from two wards in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party expressed concern over the delay in announcing results from Kuje Central and Kabi Wards, warning that the situation could undermine public confidence in the electoral process.

The PDP noted that most of the results from the affected wards have already been uploaded on INEC’s Result Viewing Portal (IREV), making the continued delay unnecessary and suspicious.

The statement read in part:

“We are concerned that the results from two wards in Kuje Area Council are yet to be announced by @inecnigeria. This delay has raised apprehension because of the marginal lead that the Peoples Democratic Party @OfficialPDPNig has there, which we are aware is under the threat of being manipulated using security forces.”

The party further urged the INEC Chairman to take urgent steps to resolve the issue.

“We call on the Chairman of INEC to immediately order the announcement of the results in Kuje Central and Kabi Wards, most of which have been posted on the IREV.”

Emphasising the importance of transparency, the PDP stressed that the credibility of the election depends on timely and accurate declaration of results.

“Election results must remain a true reflection of the votes of the people; anything less invalidates the entire process.”

“We should uphold the sanctity of the ballot.”

It reaffirmed the PDP’s commitment to defending the will of voters and protecting Nigeria’s democratic process.

The party urged INEC, security agencies, and other stakeholders to act responsibly and ensure that the final outcome of the Kuje Area Council election reflects the genuine choice of the electorate.
