Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda has described the late Hajiya Dada as a mother of the country who produced great men that worked tirelessly for the development of Nigeria.
Radda stated this on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen to condole with her immediate family and thanked all those that came to the state for her funeral rite.
The deceased was the mother of the late President Umaru Musa-Yar’adua and late former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Gen. Shehu Musa-Yar’adua.
Among her surviving children also is the serving Senator representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, Sen. Abdulaziz Musa-Yar’adua, among others.
She died on Monday evening at the ripe age of 102 after a protracted illness.
“Hajiya Dada’s death is a great loss not only to the Katsina state but Nigeria as a whole.
“She hads produced great men that worked tirelessly for the development of the country.
“Hajiya Dada lived a very good life, not only for herself, but for all of us.
“She taught us morals and led us very well. She was a woman who spoke less, but always spoke with wisdom, in fact, we have learnt a lot from her.
“Hajiya Dada always spoke in a way that would assist people,” the governor said.
He further described the deceased as a woman of patience and steadfastness.
Radda said that she had witnessed the death of her five sons who became great men of the country.
“She accepted destiny, she had witnessed the death of her husband and great sons without noticing the discomfort in her face and eyes.
“It is now that Almighty Allah took her soul, we thanked Allah for her witnessing different types of lives,” he said.
The governor thanked all those that came to the state to condole with her immediate family, government and people of the state.
“This morning, we received a delegation of the President Bola Tinubu, ably represented by the Vice President Kashim Shettima.
“We received the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, former Governors, Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas.
“Also, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt.-Gen. Christopher Musa for the entire military formations, among others.(NAN)
