Members endorsing Tinubu will face stiff sanctions, says PDP NWC

National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a reprimand to members engaging in anti-party activities, particularly those endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.

National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, said the NWC expressed concern over public media outbursts against the party by some prominent members.

“Of serious concern is the persistent public media outbursts against our Party by some prominent members whose actions and utterances including their public declaration of support and willingness to work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential election in violation of the provision of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) constitute a serious threat to the stability and sustenance of our Party.

According to the PDP NWC, actions and utterances by some members, including public declarations of support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 Presidential election, violate Section 10 (6) of the PDP Constitution. This section states that “NO MEMBER of the Party SHALL align with other Parties or groups to undermine the Party or any of its elected government.”

The NWC warned that such anti-party activities have negatively impacted the PDP, leading to division and disaffection. Members involved are cautioned to retract their steps or face stiffer sanctions as provided in the PDP Constitution.

The NWC charged all PDP members to remain loyal and work towards the successful conduct of the PDP National Convention scheduled for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
