Military Air Strikes Kill 103 ISWAP Fighters, Destroy Terror Logistics Bases

Operation HADIN KAI said it has killed 103 suspected ISWAP terrorists during intelligence-led air strikes across Borno and Adamawa states.

The operations were carried out between October 10 and 18, targeting several terrorist camps and logistics bases in the North-East.

The Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, announced the development in a statement issued in Maiduguri.

He said the operations were jointly executed by the Nigerian Army Aviation, the Nigerian Army Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Regiment and the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI.

According to him, one of the biggest successes was the destruction of the alternate hideout of ISWAP commander Abu Saleem in Arina Woje, Monguno Local Government Area.

Goni said intelligence confirmed the killing of Jindullah, Abu Saleem’s chief security guard, and Abul Kissa, a member of the group’s Shura Council, during the strike.

He added that the operation also destroyed the building, nine boat engines, motorcycles and other logistics items used by the terrorists.

The military spokesman disclosed that another precision strike on October 13 killed about 30 terrorists after surveillance tracked more than 100 fighters gathering near Badu.

He said the seven coordinated air strikes weakened the terrorists’ logistics network, disrupted their command structure and reduced their operational strength.

Operation HADIN KAI said it will sustain intelligence-led air and ground offensives to deny terrorists safe havens and restore lasting peace across the North-East.
