Nigerian Army Deals Crushing Blow to Boko Haram/ISWAP, Neutralizes Top Commander

The Nigerian Army has launched a successful operation against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State. In the early hours of June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai conducted simultaneous air and ground attacks on terrorist strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba LGA, and the Tumbuktu Triangle.

According to the Nigerian Army’s official X handle, @HQNigerianArmy, the operation resulted in significant casualties among terrorists and their leaders. “Notably, Ameer Malam Jidda, a top commander in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages, was neutralized,” the post read.

The military operation was comprehensive, with troops launching coordinated attacks on terrorist positions. The Nigerian Army also reported recovering additional bodies of terrorists and seized weapons in Abadam, following a recent operation in Mallamfatori.

This latest operation demonstrates the Nigerian Army’s commitment to tackling terrorism and ensuring the safety of citizens. The neutralization of Ameer Malam Jidda is a significant blow to the terrorist group, and the military’s efforts to disrupt their operations continue.
