Detectives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, over the alleged murder of two persons and attempted killing of three others during a violent knife attack in Olámbe area of Ogun State.
The suspect, identified as Abubakar Musa, was apprehended by operatives of the Ajuwon Police Division after he reportedly fled the scene following the incident.
According to police authorities, the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., when the suspect allegedly attacked five individuals with a knife following a disagreement linked to failed business dealings.
Sources said the victims were attempting to calm Musa down when he suddenly turned violent and stabbed them.
Two of the victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, sustained severe injuries and died while being rushed to the hospital.
A medical doctor later confirmed their deaths.
Three other victims — Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25 — sustained serious injuries during the attack.
Police authorities disclosed that the victims are currently in critical condition but are responding to treatment at a medical facility.
Following the attack, the suspect reportedly fled the scene but was later tracked and arrested by detectives from the Ajuwon Division.
Police authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the violent attack and assured residents that justice would be served.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent behaviour to security agencies.
The police further encouraged residents to make use of available emergency channels to report security concerns.
