First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has fulfilled her pledge of ₦2 million to Baba Modu Fandi, a staff of the Borno State Ministry of Education, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to duty.
Senator Tinubu made the promise during the flag-off of the National Community Food Bank Programme and the commissioning of legacy projects executed by Babagana Umara Zulum on Monday, April 27, in Maiduguri.
Earlier, Governor Zulum had also demonstrated support by allocating a house at Mai Mala Buni Housing Estate to Malam Fandi, alongside additional financial assistance.
Presenting the cash reward, Governor Zulum flanked by the immediate past Commissioner for Education, Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ya Karu Mustapha—expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the gesture.
“This is the presentation of the gift of two million naira from the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to one of our own security men who was given a house last week as a result of his dedication to duty. The First Lady graciously gave him ₦2 million in order to boost his morale,” he said.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Borno State, I want to convey my deepest appreciation to Her Excellency, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he added.
