Osun Election: I’ll Involve Trump If Anything Goes Wrong With The Election– Singer Davido

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has threatened to involve United States President Donald Trump if anything goes wrong with the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.

Davido made the statement during a livestream hosted by Carter Efe, while speaking about his plans to venture into politics and his concerns about Nigeria’s electoral system.

The singer said he would only go into politics when there is transparency in the electoral process, insisting that he is confident of winning any election conducted freely and fairly.

“Until there’s transparency, then I can go ahead with politics because nobody can beat me in any election. If there’s a free and fair election, let everybody come out to vote, I will win. But because of the system, there’s no transparency; they write the results.”

Speaking specifically about the Osun election, Davido said he was watching to see how the process would unfold.

“I want to see what they are going to do in Osun. We are waiting.”

Davido then said he would seek Trump’s intervention if he was dissatisfied with the conduct of the election, stating that he was prepared to take the matter all the way to the White House.

“I’ll tag Trump, I’ll call Trump, everybody. If they still don’t see anything, I’ll go in front of the White House and say, ‘Help us.’ They think it’s a joke.

“Trump will just say, ‘I think there’s a Nigerian artiste sending me a message. Don’t worry, my message will be delivered.’

He concluded saying “Leave Osun alone oo, Leave it.”
