A train conveying passengers from Kaduna and Abuja has derailed.
The trailed derailed at an unspecified location in the early hours of Wednesday, June 12, 2024, leaving numerous passengers stranded and sparked widespread concern among relatives of passengers.
A relative of one of the passengers who identified herself as Aishat Ado told the punch that her sister called to inform her of the derailment but could not ascertain their current destination
“My sister just called me and said their train had derailed but she could not mention her location before her phone went off. I tried calling her back several times but the phone seems off,” Aishat said.
One of the passengers, Norbert, shared a video and photos from the scene, saying the incident happened near Abuja.
Recall that a week ago, a train bound for Kaduna derailed at the Asha station in the federal capital territory.
On May 26, a train scheduled for Abuja also derailed in Jere.
