Former Nigerian presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has joined the global community in celebrating the renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, describing her as a “literary giant” whose work uplifts humanity.
In a heartfelt birthday message on Monday, , Obi praised Adichie’s ability to transform talent into a beacon of inspiration, stating, “Her life and work remind us that when nurtured with discipline and vision, talent becomes a light for the individual and all of society.”
Obi highlighted Adichie’s profound impact on global literature, noting that her writings “enrich global literature while uplifting humanity” and inspire new generations of storytellers.
He commended her dedication to nurturing young minds through literary workshops, encouraging them to “dream boldly, think critically, and wield words as instruments of truth and transformation.”
Reflecting on her humility, Obi was particularly touched by Adichie’s visit to her alma mater, where she reconnected with teachers from her primary school days.
“In that simple yet profound act, she reminded us all that the journey forward is strongest when anchored in gratitude to the past,” he said.
Celebrating her as both a personal inspiration and a global icon, Obi concluded with warm wishes: “May God continue to strengthen her, bless her in the years ahead with wisdom and joy, and make her light shine even brighter for Nigeria and the world.”
