President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday hosted former President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, shortly after Jonathan returned from a tense assignment in Guinea-Bissau.
Jonathan had been in the West African nation leading an election observation mission, a role that unexpectedly drew public concern when news broke of a sudden military uprising in the country.
The development sparked anxiety back home as many Nigerians sought reassurance about the former president’s safety.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga later eased those fears with a post on his X handle, confirming Jonathan’s safe arrival and his visit to the Villa.
Tinubu received the statesman warmly, bringing a calm end to a trip overshadowed by uncertainty.
