Plateau State Govt relaxes curfew in Jos North

In light of the relative calm recorded after the recent violent attack on citizens of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area, the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced the relaxation of the 48-hour curfew earlier imposed on the area.

Commissioner for Information and Communication, Plateau State, Joyce Ramnap, announced this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to the statement, effective from 1st April, 2026, the curfew will be relaxed from 7am to 3pm.

Residents are hereby permitted to carry out their lawful activities, within the stipulated hours.

The government urged citizens to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding as security agencies continue to monitor the situation to ensure sustained peace and order.

It appreciated the cooperation and resilience of the public during this period and reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state.
