The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has revealed the reasons behind the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
According to spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh, the police acted on a petition received on October 28, 2025, alleging criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, th+ft, and cyber-bullying involving Samuel and three others.
Despite several invitations for questioning, Samuel reportedly failed to appear before investigators. He was later arrested in Lagos under a valid court warrant and taken to Abuja for investigation.
The command confirmed that he was charged to court on November 6, 2025, and remanded in prison until he meets his bail conditions. Earlier, Regina Daniels accused her husband’s camp, led by Senator Ned Nwoko, of orchestrating her brother’s detention.
The actress expressed frustration over the prolonged detention, revealing that her parents had travelled to Abuja to intervene. In a recent video, Regina hinted that she might reconcile with Nwoko to secure her brother’s release, lamenting alleged police bias and the influence of power in the case.
She accused Nwoko of ab¥se and manipulation, while the senator has denied all allegations, claiming she struggled with substance issues that fueled their marital problems. The police reaffirmed their commitment to due process as the matter proceeds in court.
